Life Is Beautiful

this is the name of the film i watched yesterday during my GP lesson. life is beautiful.. is life beautiful for us? that was the question the teacher posed us.. i think that almost the whole lt chorused the word "no" in unison.. we think that life is not beautiful because of so much imperfections in our life.. in a way, we kind of treat ourselves as the first priority and only our own feelings should be taken into account.. but we never realised that there are ppl around us that has suffered more misfortune and yet they take things into their stride.. they treat life as a beautiful thing.. maybe its time we reflect upon ourselves, start thinking out of the box, looking things from a bird's eye view, and rethink..

the movie was about a man called Guido, married to a lady called Dora and years later, they have a son called joshua.. (Joshua is a DAMN CUTE boY!!!) life was like a fairytale, but the war all tore it apart.. happily ever after wasn't to be.. war came and they being jews, were captured and sent to concentration camps.. and guido, trying to protect the innocent joshua from the cruelity of war and the concentration camp, treats the holocaust as a game and you have to earn a thousand points.. the first prize would be a tank..

throughout the movie, i can't help but laugh at the slapstick humour it presents.. guido tries his best to convince joshua that all is a game and they'll soon be over with it and get out of the concentration camp.. im really amazed by the sacrifices a father can give for the sake of his son.. guido is really noble.. to save his family, he sacrifices himself in the end.. it was a rather sad ending.. there wasn't any happy reunion.. not everything will come to an end beautifully.. the movie was funny, but we could see the horrors of war and the holocaust just purely through how these are depicted in the film.. people dressed in dirty garments, poor living conditions, people being treated like slaves, and lives just lost in a split second.. the film said that the young and the old were killed through gas chambers.. and they killed the children by telling them to go for a bath, and they kill them.. but lucky joshua.. he is a boy who dislikes bathing.. so this kinda helped him escape death..

im amazed by the things guido does to save his family.. and im amazed by dora's self sacrificial love.. i think she ain't jew so she wasn't called to the concentration camp.. but she requested to go, maybe she didn't want to see her husband and son suffer and yet herself safely at home.. that is so NOBLE! suffering together, but connected by the heart, mind and soul.. that's probably the highest level love can go, willing to suffer with your loved ones..

maybe that is why the title of the movie is called "life is beautiful".. because life will be beautiful when we have our loved ones in heart, mind and soul..

i always like to check out information bout movies i enjoy watching.. looking up pictures and found some real nice ones! mostly joshua's one.. hee.. he's a cute boy kay! how nice to have such a beautiful child..

happy familY!!!
